California’s state legislature has not adopted two separate bills aimed at protecting the sports of girls against trans inclusion on Tuesday. During the debate for one of the bills, a legislator of the Democratic State compared the proposals to the practices employed by Nazi Germany in the Holocaust.
Rick Chavez Zbur, member of the California Assembly, made the comparison while competing in the first bill, AB 89.
“It really reminds me of what happened in Nazi Germany in the 1930s. We are heading for autocracy in this country. In Nazi Germany, the transgender people were persecuted, prohibited from public life,” said Zbur.
Zbur was then interrupted by mediators who protested against his comparison and argued that he was down. But Zbur continued his analogy.
“It is on this subject, this is this bill,” said Zbur. “They were prohibited from public life. They were tried. They were imprisoned and killed in concentration camps. And the way she started was the same kind of thing that happens in this country by the Trump administration.”

The member of the Republican Assembly of California, Kate Sanchez, who proposed AB 89, said he heard audible dressings in the assembly chamber during the argument of Zbur, and that a participant was to apologize for the room.
“There were a lot of dressing and shock,” Sanchez told PK Press Club Digital.
“It was very deaf. We had a mother who had been in the holocaust herself, so she had to leave the committee’s hearing because it was so offensive to hear … She got up and left because she was so uncomfortable with the situation.”
Several Democratic residents, including a member of the LGBTQ community, appeared on Tuesday in the Assembly to plead in favor of the bill.
But AB 89 was finally canceled by the Democratic majority. However, it will be authorized for a review on a later date.
“I am so disgusted that my democratic colleagues could not defend the protection of women and girls,” said Sanchez. “Not only do they ignore the will of people … they ignore everyday mom, dad, girl in sport. They ignore their desires.
The member of the Democratic Assembly, Avalino Valencia, was absent by Tuesday’s vote. The president of the Assembly Robert Rivas inserted himself within the committee to vote in the absence of Valence. The Valencia Office did not respond to the PK Press Club Digital Comments.
A few moments after the Democrats canceled the Sanchez bill, the Committee voted on AB 844, which would also prohibit the Trans athletes of Girls Sports and was proposed by the member of the Republican Assembly of California, Bill Essayli. The debate for the Essayli bill presented the testimony of the activist and conservative filmmaker Matt Walsh.

And as the Sanchez bill, Essayli was also canceled by the Democratic majority. Essayli told PK Press Club Digital that he thought that the Democrat’s resistance to the two bills was intended to send a message to Governor Gavin Newsom.
Newsom provoked the wrong party of his own party with comments on his podcast last month, expressing his conviction that trans athletes in girls sports were “deeply unfair”, but defended allowing him anyway.
“I think there is really a civil war here which is preparing in the Democratic Party on the way of solving these problems. You have the governor who goes in a direction, and I think that what you have seen today with leadership in the legislative assembly, which tends to be even more radical and progressive than the governor, adopting a completely different approach. The Sports Association of the State Lycée, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), is currently under federal survey for Potential title IX violations After several controversial incidents involving trans athletes in the past year.
The CIF was one of the first state sports associations to announce that it would continue to allow athletes to compete with the girls after Trump signed the female sports decree “which indicated an 11 -year law, the 11 -year -old law, AB 1266, which has been in force since 2014 and gives Trans athletes the right to participate in the gender category according to gender identity and not sexual relations at birth, for its non-compliance.
Sanchez and Essayli told PK Press Club Digital that they expect the Trump administration to increase its pressure on the state and potentially reduced funding in order to enforce the decree after their invoices were not adopted on Tuesday.
“I think a lot of things go down from the hose in next week,” said Sanchez. “There will be a lot of development of what I have been told.”
Essayli is considering a situation taking place in California similar to that which was played in Maine in the last month, while a public quarrel between Trump and Governor Janet Mills led to a hostile back and forth between state agencies and federal on the issue of trans inclusion.
“None of us really thought that the Democrats of the Legislative Assembly were going to change their position on this subject today, but what we wanted to make is to make a clear file, to make our arguments and to show the world where they are, where the Democrats stand on this subject, expose their position on this subject,” said Essayli. “And I think we have accomplished it.”
