California’s Newsom pushes Trump, reporting condemned crypto allies CZ, Ross Ulbricht

California Governor Gavin Newsom is continuing his colorful public campaign attacking President Donald Trump’s reputation and behavior, this time launching a page on the state’s website purporting to “track Trump’s top 10 criminal friends” – a list on which the crypto world features prominently.

The state’s own website includes the new page, with Newsom’s comments: “Trump is a criminal who surrounds himself with crooks and drug dealers,” he reportedly said. “We are providing the public with a resource bringing the facts together in one place so Californians and all Americans can see who he is lifting up and who he is protecting.”

The site – which also seeks to demonstrate that crime levels in California have declined – includes sections on former Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, who Trump pardoned in October; Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the Silk Road who was pardoned by Trump during his first month in office; and the co-founders of BitMEX, who Trump pardoned in May. It includes stylized photos of the people featured, including Trump, with a “FELON” stamp placed on each.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the site.

Newsom has gained national notoriety as he continues to frequently mock the president on social media, and the governor is widely seen as a potential Democratic presidential candidate in 2028.
