- Call of Duty could be heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the near future
- Leaker claims references to Nintendo platforms appeared in game code
- It’s not yet clear which entries would make the jump
A Call of Duty The game could be about to come to Nintendo Switch 2, according to a recent leak.
As noted by VGC, a leaker who goes by the name “@realityuk” would have spotted references to Nintendo platforms in the Call of Duty code.
Yeah, it looks like Nintendo x COD is imminent, whatever Nintendo’s next round of announcements are, expect it pic.twitter.com/ojiEUQnHDMJanuary 11, 2026
Based on their screenshot, Nintendo references appear to appear alongside code from other major platforms like Xbox and PlayStation.
Ubisoft Connect is also present in the list, which is likely a result of some Activision titles, including Modern Warfare 2 And Modern Warfare 3became available via Ubisoft+ Premium streaming late last year.
The leaker suggests that this means an announcement is “imminent” and should be expected as part of Nintendo’s next round of reveals.
It’s unclear which games, if any, will come to Nintendo Switch 2, but the most obvious contenders would be Black Ops 7 and free-to-play War zone battle royale.
An essential port?
New claims about potential Call of Duty The Nintendo Switch 2 port shouldn’t be that surprising, because Microsoft and Nintendo have reached a binding ten-year legal agreement in 2023.
At the time, Microsoft Vice Chairman and President Brad Smith promised that the company would bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo platforms.
The games would launch “on the same day as Xbox, with full feature and content parity” as part of a move to “provide long-term equal access to Call of Duty to other gaming platforms.
The announcement comes amid a pending Federal Trade Commission (FTC) lawsuit against Microsoft, which claimed the tech giant’s purchase of Call of Duty owner Activision Blizzard would violate U.S. antitrust laws.
The case was ultimately dropped by the FTC, with the $75.4 billion acquisition finalized on October 13, 2023.
Although it is clear that Microsoft missed the opportunity to bring Black Ops 7 on Nintendo Switch 2 “the same day as Xbox”, the announcement of a port would still go some way to keeping this promise.
