Calls have been made to the UN on behalf of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi

The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and his wife Bushra Bibi submitted official calls to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on torture for their alleged arbitrary detention and their inhuman treatment, said Pti Zulfi Bukhari.

On Friday in X, Bukhari revealed that two calls had been officially filed on behalf of the PTI chef PTI incarcerated and his spouse. He added that calls had been launched with the help of the Perseus Strategies human rights law firm.

“I am pleased to announce that two official calls have been submitted to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on torture, @dralicejedwards, on behalf of the former Prime Minister @imrankhanpti and his wife, Bushra Bibi,” wrote Bukhari on X.

Bukhari noted that the call for Khan had been submitted by his sons, Sulaiman and Kasim, while Bushra Bibi’s sister Maryam Wattoo has submitted the submission on his behalf. He also alleged that the couple’s in progress was politically motivated and aimed to undermine the determination of the former Prime Minister.

“We will never stop lifting our voices on each platform against their arbitrary detention and their inhuman treatment.

He also thanked Jared Gens and Jacob Bogart of Perseus Strategies for their “invaluable support” in the preparation of the legal documentation subject to the United Nations organization.

Development comes in the midst of current legal battles involving the former Prime Minister and his wife, who were both sentenced in several cases in the past year, including Toshakhana and Iddat affairs. PTI and his supporters have described on several occasions as politically motivated.

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture is an independent expert appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council to investigate and account for questions related to torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading or degrading or sanctions in the world.

Separately, Kasim wrote: “My father, Imran Khan, is in prison because he defended democracy. He is detained in isolation, refused access to his doctors and was prevented from meeting his lawyers and his family. At the same time, family members and thousands of his supporters were removed or trained before the military courts. ”

He described the incarceration of his father as a political revenge, declaring: “It is not justice – it is a political revenge. The democracy of Pakistan is at stake, and I call all those who believe in human rights and democracy to hold us with us so that the voice of the people is heard and that the rule of law is restored. “
