The Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Oklahoma City Thunder became the seventh consecutive international player to win the NBA MVP Prize on Wednesday.

James Harden was the last American to win the MVP, when he did with the Houston Rockets in 2017-2018. Jay Williams, former Duke star and current ESPN analyst, asked if the cancelled culture was the reason why there was no American MVP recently.

“People will not like it, but I really don’t care. How many things do you think it is to cancel culture in the political aspects of the place where we were, compared to where we are going?” Williams said in the “first take” of ESPN.
