- The rumors suggest that the EOS R7 Mark II is due to the T which 3 or the fourth quarter of this year
- Sources indicate that the Mark II could have an APS-C 40MP sensor
- No official announcement of Canon
The Canon EOS R7 was the first model without flagship mirror of the company built around an APS-C sensor. Launched in 2022, we praised in our in -depth examination – and there remains a fantastic hybrid camera today. But with strong competition on the range of the range, it is to quickly approach the time that Canon introduces a second edition of the R7.
If online chatter is precise, this is exactly what could happen later this year. We are still outside a defined launch date, but the rumors of Canon – a reliable source of information on industry – have published a story stating that the EOS R7 Mark II arrives in Hit in the third quarter or the fourth quarter of 2025. It also suggests that the model will be “high -end”.
Canon rumors have not shared other details on what we can expect to see on the EOS R7 Mark II specification sheet and the manufacturer himself is still in Lachie. But a quick glance at the R7 gaps should offer some clues. This could also give Fujifilm something to fear: an improved EOS R7 Mark II could exceed the X -T5 – the best Fujifilm camera that you can buy now.
What specifications could the Canon Eos R7 Mark II I have?
One of the key improvements in the EOS R7 Mark II is probably its sensor. While the 32.5 MP number of the R7 was the class of the field when it was launched, it was then prevailed over the X-T5, with its resolution of 40.2 MP. For this reason, a certain number of sources – including canon rumors – have suggested that Canon will increase the resolution of the EOS R7 Mark II to around 40 MP.
Some have suggested that the sensor upgrade could also unlock 8K video recording capacities. It would certainly make it a more powerful hybrid. The same goes for the ability to shoot a 4K / 120p video, a functionality that lacked on the first generation EOS R7.
Physically, we would not expect the Mark II to be a huge gap compared to the established factor of EOS R7. That said, Canon Rumors postulated that the Mark II will have a larger body, with an ergonomics closer to that of the EOS R5 Mark II.
Several sources have also determined whether the EOS R7 Mark II will benefit from much faster reading speeds. Canon Rumed suspended the idea that the EOS R7 Mark II will be the first cannon camera without mirror to completely eliminate a mechanical component, in search of Nikon Z8 to offer faster image frequencies and a reduction in the shutter.
Associated with the last canon follow -up development, it would make Mark II a choice of culture sensors for serious enthusiasts, in particular those who like to draw action, sports and fauna. To correspond, we expect to see an upgrade of the resolution of the electronic viewfinder, which we found “a little pedestrian” in our Revue du R7.
Of course, all of the above is based on speculation and nothing has been confirmed by Canon. That said, the EOS R7 Mark II is almost certain to be a major progress for the APS -C de Canon range – and which offers a convincing alternative to the Fujifilm X series.
