Five soldiers, including a captain, were martyred when an improvised explosive device (IED) struck the security forces during a disinfection operation in the Kech district in Balutchistan, the army media linked on Monday.
According to inter-service public relations (ISPR), the IED exploded on September 15 while the troops moved to conduct the operation to Sher Bandi, Kech. “Consequently, five brave sons of the ground embraced martyrdom, including a captain,” said the statement.
In a follow -up action, the security forces killed five terrorists linked to the group “Fitna al Hindustan”, described by the army as “an Indian indicator”. The operations of disinfection in the surroundings continued to clean the remaining activists.
The martyrs understood Captain Waqar Ahmed, 25, of Loralai; Naik Asmat Ullah, 35, from Dera Ghazi Khan; Lance Naik Junaid Ahmed, 29, from Sukkur; Lance Naik Khan Muhammad, 29, from Mardan; and Sepoy Muhammad Zahor, 28, from Swabi.
“The martyrdom of our brave officers and soldiers further strengthens our determination,” said the ISPR, adding that the security forces of Pakistan “in stage with the nation remain firm to eradicate the country’s terrorism.”

Earlier, thirty-one terrorists linked to the Fitna Al Khwarij network sponsored by the Indians were killed in two operations based on intelligence carried out by security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on September 13 and 14.
According to the ISPR, the first operation took place in the Lakki Marwat district following militant presence reports. “Our troops have effectively hired the location of Khwarij, and after an intense fire exchange, fourteen activists sponsored by the Indians were neutralized,” the statement said.
In a separate operation in the Bannu district, seventeen additional activists were killed during a shooting with security forces.
“Disinfection operations are underway to eliminate all Khwarij, sponsored by the Indians, in the region,” he added, stressing that the forces of Pakistan are determined to “eliminate the threat of terrorism sponsored by India in the country”.
