Cardi B took up position in Los Angeles to testify in a civil trial resulting from an alleged altercation with a security guard in 2018.
The rapper born Belcalis Almánzar, faces a legal action by the former security guard Emani Ellis, who accuses him of aggression, of blows and inflicts an emotional distress.
Ellis claims that Cardi struck her, spit her on her and cut her face with a nail during a confrontation in an obstetrician office of Beverly Hills while the artist was four months pregnant with her first child.
Tuesday testifying, Cardi denied that the incident became physical, although she admitted to having called Ellis a “b ****” during an animated exchange, according to Daily Mail’s Reports.
Regarding this, she declared in court: “We had a verbal fight, but it did not become physical at all. She did not hit me, I did not hit her. There was no contact. So for me, it was not an incident.”
According to Cardi’s account, Ellis, who worked in the building, started to follow her and record it on a mobile phone when she left her appointment with the doctor.
According to the publication, the rapper said that she had confronted the guard about filming it without consent, describing the meeting as an invasion of his private life.
Ellis, who testified the day before, alleged that Cardi spit, she ashamed of the body and slipped her face with a long nail.
She also accused the star of using blasphemies and racial insults. Cardi denied these allegations, saying under oath that she has neither hit nor spit on Ellis.
In addition, the prosecution, filed in 2020, also claims that the invasion of privacy used its influence to make Ellis fire.
