Cate Blanchett, with more than three decades in Hollywood, thought about an era when actresses had a shocking expiration date.
In an interview Business Insider, The 55 -year -old actor and film producer spoke of “age and S ****” in Hollywood and explained how things had changed for elderly women since she started playing.
Blanchett said: “The shelf life of the actresses when I arrived on the stage was about five years.”
In the light on the current state of women in Hollywood, she joked: “I think that productive women have more agency. There are more women in the writing room, the more the industry is diversified at the base, when things are developed, the more exciting it is for the public. ”
For UNSIRSED, Blanchett acquired wide recognition after her performance nominated at the Oscars as Queen Elizabeth I Elizabeth (1998).
Since then, Oscar’s double winner has acted in more than 100 projects and has also worked as a producer. Some of the projects she produced include Singing (2015), Ms. America (2020), Tar (2022), Rumors (2024), and its Apple TV + series Non-liability clause (2024).
It is relevant to mention that Cate Blanchett is currently acting and produces the next extraterrestrial invasion comedy Alpha Gang, Directed by the Zellner brothers.
In particular, the film, which does not yet have a release date, also features Channing Tatum, Riley Keough, Dave Bautista, Zoë Kravitz, Léa Seydoux and Steven Yeun.
