CDF Munir draws red line on national security

Marshal visits Lahore garrison and receives briefing on operational readiness

Chief of Defense Force and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday reiterated the Army’s policy of zero tolerance towards any threat to national security, reaffirming the institution’s unwavering resolve to confront multifaceted challenges.

Field Marshal Asim visited the Lahore Garrison, where he received a comprehensive briefing on training operational readiness, training standards and key initiatives aimed at improving combat effectiveness, said a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Reiterating the core mission of the Army, Field Marshal Asim noted that the Pakistan Armed Forces remained committed to safeguarding the sovereignty, territorial integrity and internal stability of the country, while fostering a culture of excellence, discipline and selfless national service.

In his address to the officers, “the COAS and CDF highlighted the Pakistan Army’s policy of zero tolerance towards any threat to national security, reaffirming the institution’s unwavering resolve to face multifaceted challenges with focus, professionalism and determination,” the press release said.

“Reiterating the core mission of the Army, he noted that the Pakistan Armed Forces remained committed to safeguarding the sovereignty, territorial integrity and internal stability of the country, while fostering a culture of excellence, discipline and selfless national service,” the statement added.

Earlier, the CDF was received by the Lahore Corps Commander on his arrival at the Lahore Garrison. “The COAS and CDF witnessed a specialized field training exercise showcasing the latest technologies, highlighting the Army’s focus on innovation and adaptability to adapt to the future dynamic battlefield, the ISPR said.

Field Marshal Asim also inspected the sports and recreational facilities provided to the troops, highlighting their importance in maintaining physical fitness, morale and general well-being.

During the visit, the army chief also visited a high-level healthcare center at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Lahore. He lauded the efforts of the medical staff and administration in creating a fully equipped and state-of-the-art health facility.
