On Sunday, senior political leaders were informed of the national security situation at a high -level meeting held at the headquarters of state television in the midst of increasing tensions between Pakistan and India after the deadly attack on April 22 against Indian tourists, he illegally occupied the Jammu and the cashmere (IIOJK), according to the media.

The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry and the Minister of Information, Ataullah Tarar, directed the briefing, which included important personalities such as Khurram Dastgir of PML-N and Abid Sher Ali, the PM advisor Pervez Khattak and the Sattar Dr Faroq de MQM.

Leaders of the ministers of Jui-F, BAP and the Sindh keys, including Nasir Hussain Shah, Sharjeel Memon and Saeed Ghani, were also present.

The security briefing comes after India blamed Pakistan for the attack by Pahalgam which killed at least 26 people, despite the provision of concrete evidence. In response, India has taken a series of unilateral measures, in particular by suspending the Industry Water Treaty, by revoking Pakistani visas and closing the Wagah-Attari border passage.

Pakistan strongly denied any involvement in the incident and called for a credible and transparent investigation. In retaliation, Islamabad expelled Indian diplomats, canceled visas for Indian nationals – notably Sikhs pilgrims – and closed the border crossing on its side.

The situation led to a strong deterioration of bilateral links between the two nuclear neighbors.
