Champions Trophy – Pakistan sentenced to a fine for a slowdown

Pakistan experienced a fine of five percent of their match costs Thursday for having maintained a rally pace during their match against New Zealand when the Champions Trophy was opened at the Karachi National Stadium.

The reigning host and champions lost to New Zealand by 60 on Wednesday.

Pakistan was found a further objective after time allowances were taken into account, said the ICC.

While the referees on the field Richard Kettleborough and Sharfuddoula, the third referee Joel Wilson and the fourth referee Alex Wharf level, the referee of the match Andy Pycroft imposed the sanction, deducting five percent of the match costs.

The Pakistani skipper Mohammad Rizwan pleaded guilty to the offense without an official audience required later.

In accordance with article 2.22 of the CPI conduct code for players and players’ support staff, which concerns minimum rate offenses, players are fined five percent of their match fees for Each side if their side fails to play in time allocated.

Pakistan had suffered another blow on Thursday, with Fakhar Zaman ruled the rest of the tournament with an injury. The Imam-Ul-Haq was approved by the ICC as a replacement of Fakhar. They will then face India in Dubai on Sunday.
