The traitors star Charlotte Chilton has shared a new update on her health, revealing she is undergoing brain surgery after being rushed to the emergency room following a “huge” attack of trigeminal neuralgia.
Trigeminal neuralgia is sudden, intense facial pain. It is often described as a shooting pain or electric shock in the jaw, teeth or gums.
The NHS says: “Living with trigeminal neuralgia can be very difficult. This can have a significant impact on a person’s quality of life, leading to problems such as weight loss, isolation and depression.
The star, 32, recounted in a post on Sunday how she was subjected to “physical torture” due to her symptoms and heartbreakingly wrote: “They call it suicide disease for a reason.”
She wrote in a post while sharing a snap in her hospital gown: “As many of you know, I have been trying to raise awareness about trigeminal neuralgia. I unfortunately ended up in hospital with a terrible seizure and it required me to have another neurosurgery to control it.
“Having brain surgery is always intimidating, but it provides long-term relief and allows me to get on with my life.
“After being rushed to points A and E with a massive seizure, I was looked after by the amazing Neuro team at QE Hospital and today I am due to undergo an operation to relieve me of my physical torture.
“To my TN followers, keep fighting to find the right team to support you. They don’t call it the suicide disease for nothing. I’m so grateful to my family and friends who supported me during this hellish week!

Last January, Charlotte revealed she was so distraught by the excruciating pain caused by the illness that she considered suicide.
