Islamabad:
The PTI senator, Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, filed a request on Tuesday before the High Court of Islamabad (IHC), requesting a production prescription to attend the Senate sessions.
The petition indicates that Chaudhry was arrested as part of the May 9 incidents and is currently detained in Lahore prison. He argued that as a senator, he has the constitutional right to attend the Senate and the joint parliamentary sessions.
Chaudhry urged the court to allow its participation in all the Senate procedures. The petition appoints that the Ministry of the Interior, the Senate seciatar, the prisons of Punjab Ig, the superintendent of Lahore prison, and Islamabad IGP as respondents in the case.
