Rawalpindi:
Friday, six major mourning processions will take place in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to commemorate the chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) and the Martyrs of Karbala.
The processions will take place in the middle of unprecedented security measures, including a complete closure of the metro, internet and mobile networks.
All the processions of the processions were sealed from 1 a.m. Thursday evening. In total, 8,500 police officers were deployed and all participants will be monitored via drones and 500 video surveillance cameras. Wearing weapons, lighters or batons is strictly prohibited.
Five locations along the procession routes have been declared very sensitive, the rangers and commandos deployed for additional security.
A control room has been activated and the brigade triple one of the army remains on alert throughout the day. The mounted police units are also in service.
The first procession will start at 12:30 p.m. from Imambargah Ashiq Hussain in Teeli Mohalla, reaching the central colonel of Imambargah Maqbool Hussain at 1:30 p.m.
The other processions include those of Imambargah Hifazat Ali Shah at 2:30 p.m., Imambargah Shaheedan-E-Karbala (tire bazaar) at 4:45 p.m., Imambargah Darbar shah Charagh Charagh at 3.30 p.m. and Imambargah Balttistaniya at 1:00 p.m.
These processions will end at Imambargah Qadeem around 12:30 p.m. after crossing Murrier Road, the Chowk committee, Iqbal Road, Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazaar and other key areas.
Participants will carry out traditional mourning rituals at each intersection. Congregation prayers for Zuhr, ASR, Maghrib and Isha will be held respectively in Fawara Chowk and Jamia Masjid Road. Water, tea and medical camps are installed along the routes.
The sub-commissioner imposed article 144, requiring the closure of all markets, squares and mosques along the procession tracks.
Residents are prohibited from standing on roofs, balconies or windows. Entrance is limited to the visit doors only, and all participants will be sought on three layers of security.
The double district on motorcycles is prohibited and all parking and construction materials are barred along the roads. Commandos will also be parked on the roofs on both sides of the roads, in particular the two -speed section of Fawara Chowk in Dangi Khoi, which has been marked as a high -risk area and will be personally monitored by senior city officials.
Police and commandos were also deployed for more security.
