Cheryl Burke celebrates her seven years of sobriety on her social networks with a touching position.
THE Dancing Pro took her Instagram account to mark the milestone, sharing that she has acquired “presence. Peace. Self -respect ”in your sobriety trip.
“7 years ago, I thought that sobriety would mean losing everything. Pleasure. Liberty. The intrepid version of me, I thought, only presented itself after a drink,” she started to share several pictures throughout her trip.
Cheryl continued saying: “But what I did not achieve at the time … was the escape I wanted was really. And the girl I was running? It was she who was waiting to save me. I thought alcohol gave me confidence, connection and control. It turns out that it stole quietly – day after day – until I could not recognize my own reflection.”
“Today, I no longer chase chaos dressed as fun. I no longer tolerate the bonds that ask me to abandon myself. And I no longer confuse numbness for peace. What I was thinking of missing in sobriety? I have never been real to start. I won … presence. Peace. According to me,” she noted.
“And a relationship with my superior power which reminds me that I never walked alone-not even in my darkest moments,” she added, while concluding her legend, declaring: “Here are 7 years sober. Here are to choose clarity, integrity and me. One day, one hour, one minute at the same time.”
