Sir David shared an interesting conversation with his children when he was knighted by King Charles.
Inter Miami CF chairman and co-owner Sir David Beckham, 50, shares his estranged sons Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, and daughter Harper, 14, with his wife, Victoria, 51.
David Beckham, one of Britain’s most famous footballers, was knighted by King Charles at Windsor Castle in November, in recognition of his contribution to sport and charitable causes over decades.
The former England football captain, 50, received the honor at the royal residence, more than 20 years after receiving a separate royal honor recognizing his contribution to football.
Notably his impact on football over a period of twenty years and his subsequent role as ambassador to UNICEF.
Now David has revealed his children hope they will also benefit from his knighthood.
Speaking on talkSPORT Drive with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent on Friday, David said his children asked him if they would get “more privileges” when he became Sir.
Asked what changed in his life after being knighted, David replied: “The only thing that changed was my stationery that I send to people, thank you letters. That’s the only thing that’s really changed.
“My kids turned to me and said, ‘Dad, do we still have privileges?’ I know that’s what I told them.
“I thought, ‘Well, other than the ones you already have, absolutely not.’
He added: “It was one of the best…probably the happiest day of my life, you know, other than obviously the birth of my children and my wedding.”
