China advocates an equal multipolar world

In a recent speech, the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong described the vision of China for a multipolar world, stressing the need for equal treatment, equity and solidarity in global governance.

He stressed that current global transformation – marked by the increase in geopolitical conflicts, multiple crises and growing disparities in peace, development and governance – brought the world to a critical moment.

According to Jiang, the concept of a multipolar world is not only an inevitability but also a reality in the making. He expressed China’s commitment to plead for a multipolar world which is not dominated by the great powers but which is built on the principles of equality and inclusiveness.

The ambassador reiterated that China’s position promotes equal rights, opportunities and representation for all countries, regardless of their size, and highlights the importance of non-interference in the domestic affairs of sovereign nations.

He also underlined the support of China for the world South, saying that international affairs should no longer be monopolized by a few powerful countries. The development and resources of the world, said Jiang, should be shared fairly between all countries, emphasizing the achievement of winning-win cooperation and mutual benefits.

China has constantly defended the rights and interests of the world South, President Xi Jinping pleading for greater cooperation and unity between these nations.

Jiang also stressed the importance of solidarity and coordination to meet the world’s challenges. In this context, China promotes an approach focused on action that goes beyond close geopolitical interests and promotes cooperation.

This, he argued, is essential to respond to the most urgent problems in the world, because isolationist approaches such as protectionism and decoupling are counterproductive.
