Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reiterated the unshakable support from his country to Pakistan’s efforts to combat all forms of terrorism and expressed his confidence in the continuous role of the Pakistani army in the insurance of the security and security of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions through Pakistan.
The reaffirmation occurred at a high-level meeting between General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Pakistan Army Staff, and Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) and director of the Central Commission office for Foreign Affairs, held in Beijing on Thursday.
Congratulations to the general to have his recent elevation in the rank of Marshal in the field, Wang Yi praised the Pakistani army as an unshakable goalkeeper of national sovereignty and a strong pillar of Chinese-Pakistani friendship. He expressed his confidence in the continuous role of the Pakistani armed forces in the progress of the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Describing China and Pakistan as “ferron friends” and “strategic partners all time”, Wang stressed that Pakistan remains a diplomatic priority for China. He said China’s desire to work closely with Pakistan to implement the strategic consensus reached by the leader of the two countries, deepen bilateral cooperation and jointly promote peace and stability in the region.
General Munnir, in turn, reaffirmed the deep appreciation of Pakistan for the longtime and constant support of China towards its socio-economic development. He reiterated the firm commitment of the Pakistani army to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals and companies in Pakistan. He also underlined the determination of Pakistan to strengthen cooperation against terrorism with China as part of their shared vision of regional peace and prosperity.
The two parties exchanged views of the main regional and international developments and have agreed to continue the coordination of mutual concerns.
