    Bangkok: An explosion in a store in northern Laos killed four people, including Chinese nationals, reported the Consulate General of Beijing in the country.

    The “blast” occurred in a Chinese store in the province of Oudomxay on Friday, the Chinese consulate of Luang Prabang said in a statement.

    The cause of the explosion was under investigation, the consulate and the local media reported.

    Three people were also injured in “fire and explosion” in the village shop of Nasao, according to Laos National Radio.

    Meanwhile, this caused “significant damage” to the surrounding houses, managed by the Chinese state Xinhua news agency reported.

    The consulate said that the China Ambassador to Laos, Fang Hong, was making “total efforts” to help treat the injured and help the families of the victims in a row.
