Chrissy Teigen opens with the diagnosis of type 1 diabetes of her eldest son.
The model, which leads the children Luna, 9, and the miles, 6, Est, 2 years old, and Wren, 22 months with singer John Legend, tells people the difficulties around the condition.
“It really took kilometers stronger than many other children,” she recalls. “His pain was incredible, and he is a pretty hard boy.”
“We were thrown into this world of chaos and had to learn a lot at the same time,” said
“Everything was paused. We found ourselves to enter and get out of hospitals, to sit down with our notebooks taking big notes and taking videos of everything that someone did with the insulin pot,” said Teigen.
Chrissy then quoted her son, adding: “Why me? How is Luna?” She remembers. “It was really worried that it affects if he could play sports. Can I have candies? Can I have ice cream? All these things that only a child would worry.”
“You try everything: tokens, corruption, iPad time. You do everything you can to see what makes it comfortable,” she said, more and more emotional. “The first three months were really, really difficult for us with the family because your child feels pain,” recalls the model.
