Chrissy Teigen publicly revealed how she found her way back after a significant decline in sobriety.
THE Star search The judge openly admitted to relapsing after “being sober for a little over a year,” she credited Carl Radke with inadvertently becoming her guide.
Teigen explained how a conversation with the reality star about her “honesty and openness about her own journey to sobriety” helped her.
“As you know, I had mine. After being sober for a little over a year, I started drinking again,” Teigen wrote on Instagram.
She further explained that the relapse began when she remembered that she would only consume alcohol “consciously.”
“How lucky I am to have the life I have, I want to enjoy it! And I think that was my first problem,” she explained.
After highlighting a few other instances where addiction disrupted her lifestyle, the former Lip sync battle one alum revealed, “The same week after talking to Carl, I quit drinking again.”
“I have been in talks since Star search and I knew that if I had the incredible opportunity to appear on the show, there was no way I could do it with alcohol in my dressing room.
She eventually shared that she was “52 days sober again, with no desire to go back.”
“Turns out without it, I can still be funny. Still stupid. Still extremely nervous. Anxious as a motherfucker. And I can get through anything without it,” the 40-year-old model added.
Chrissy also encouraged her followers to listen to her conversation with Carl Radke in a new episode of her podcast, Self-Aware with Chrissy Teigen.
