Christopher Nolan Expresses Concerns Over Warner Bros-Netflix Merger Deal

The director of “L’Odyssée” believes that the merger will be a major setback for the industry

Oppenheimer Director Christopher Nolan has shared his thoughts on the Warner Bros-Netflix merger deal.

Nolan seemed concerned with his latest comments on the merger, as he believes “losing a major studio” will result in a major setback for the industry.

During a conversation with Variety, THE Creation The director shared: “I think it’s a very worrying time for the industry. Losing a major studio is a big blow…”

According to him, a merger would lead to a loss of “jobs and consolidation”.

“There are encouraging noises, but it’s not the same as commitments,” Nolan said.

He further highlighted Warner Bros’ theatrical showcase, which symbolically shows whether the studio will continue to operate as a theatrical distributor or transform into a streamer.

The 55-year-old Oscar-winning director added: “But the reality is that the problems on the television side and the streaming side are much bigger for us. [the Director’s Guild of America].”

Nolan is known to have a great film career as it includes films like The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Tenet, Momento, Dunkirk and many more.

His fans are eagerly awaiting his new film The Odyssey, a Greek epic starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.

The much-awaited film is scheduled to release on July 17, 2026.
