Civic infrastructure embarks on a unique rain spell

Karachi:

The metropolitan city collapsed in a single period of monsoon showers, while the streets and alleys of the city center took place in ruins after the Atversese. The widespread stagnation of water and the overflowing sewers left residents who find it difficult to move, many submerged districts and cropping a foul odor.

Civic infrastructure seems to have completed pressure, because the administration of the 25 cities has not provided a timely time relief. Tas of non -collected waste dispersed in several districts have once again exposed the ineffectiveness of the Sindh solid waste management commission (SSWMB).

While the main track ways have completed a better better place, the streets of the city center wore the weight of the rain. In several localities, the roads have sold or have suffered significant damage due to engorgement. Korangi city reports have indicated an alarming situation, the roads of Qayyumabad seriously damaged and the streets of the streets collapsing. Similar scenes have been observed in the colony of Shah Faisal, Mahmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, Admin Society, Old City Area, Gulshan-E-Iqbal, New Karachi, North Karachi, Surjani Town, Baldia Town and Orangi Town, where the Lanes have become virtually impracticable because of the breeze and rainfall.

Meanwhile, large piles of waste has been seen in Gulberg, Nazimabad and in certain parts of Malir, further aggravating the situation. The rain has not only exposed the poor preparation of the municipal authorities, but also brought enormous difficulties to the residents – just as the metropolis approaches more rain with the monsoon season which should continue until September.

Model Colony made an example

The Liaquat Ali Khan path in Model Colony has become a brutal example of the ruined infrastructure of Karachi. Years of delay in development projects, the lack of coordination between civic agencies and recent rains have transformed the road formerly frequented in wreckage. A section of the road occurred after the recent excavation for the installation of gas pipeline by the Su Southern Gas Company. The collapse was further aggravated by the rupture of the sewer system, flooding the street with stagnant and dirty water.
