CJ Stroud becomes emotional after discussing the faith with the recipient of Make-A-Wish

John Sperring, 12, is a Make-A-Wish recipient, and his wish was to meet CJ Stroud.

Sperring lives in Dallas, but after seeing the NRG stadium in his hospital room, he became a fan of Houston Texans.

Sperring was born with Heft’s hypoplastic heart syndrome (HLHS), where the left side of his heart is not developed and does not pump blood in the body. He has undergone open -hearted emergency surgery.

The 12 -year -old was presented on the “My Wish” series of ESPN, and when he was asked what he is strong, he said that he “prayed to he will heal me quickly, and I can come back”.

In the midst of his Texan Fandom, Sperring said that Stroud became his favorite player.

“He is a very humble player and always puts God first in his interviews,” said Sperring.

Sperring spent the day with Stroud and his Texan teammates during their media day. He also signed a one -day contract to officially become a member of the Texans, and also caught the practice and even broken down the team group.

Stroud asked how Dallas’ child had become a fan of the Texans.

“From my hospital, I could see NRG [Stadium]And you are a great Christian, “said Sperring.

Stroud gave him a jersey signed with biblical scriptures “which made me think of you”-Pslams 34: 15-18, Philippians 4: 6-7 and Jeremiah 29:11.

“To John! Go Texans !! Praying for you my friend!” Stroud wrote on the jersey.

The two then shared a hug, and Stroud could no longer help hiding his emotions.

“You’re going to make me cry, my brother,” he said. “You have already been torn earlier … 12 years, you like Jesus, I like it, guy. Keep this childish faith.”

“You make me want to play stronger,” Stroud told Sperring after training.

Stroud was continuously frank on his faith – when he was asked for his goals for 2025 at the end of last season, he perfected his relationship with God.

“Enlighten him with the Lord. A little in the lukewarm season-one foot, with an outing. The Lord helped me go out,” he said at the time. “So, it’s really my 2025 goal is to be locked up with the Lord as much as possible. You know, fast and pray, be part of a church here in Houston. This is my goal in 2025, to be closer to the Lord.”
