Islamabad:
The president of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff (CJCSC), General SAHUR SHAMSHAD MIRZA, held a series of high-level meetings during his official visit to Egypt as part of the third round of Pakistani and security defense and security talks, the media wing said on Thursday.
According to a declaration published by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Mirza called Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi, Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel Maged Ahmed Saqr, Admiral Osama Mounie Mohamed Rabie, President of Suez Canal Authority, and Professor Drhmed Mohamed Ahmed El-Tayeb Al-Azhar.
The declaration noted that discussions focused on improving bilateral military cooperation, regional security, efforts to combat terrorism and broader strategic collaboration.

The two parties reiterated their commitment to strengthen military links to military, in particular in the areas of joint training, defense exercises and institutional cooperation.
During his meeting with the great Imam of Al-Azhar, General Mirza stressed the importance of religious and interconfessional harmony to promote tolerance and inclusiveness, and to approach the deep causes of extremism and terrorism.
Egyptian management has praised the professionalism and operational capacities of the Armed Forces of Pakistan and recognized their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the Ministry of Defense, the CJCSC received an honorary guard by a contingent of the Egyptian armed forces.
