- Anthropic deploys a new vocal mode for his cat Ai Claude
- You can use it to search for Google Calendar and Gmail on a paid plan
- Voice mode will also be available on the level, but with use limitations
Claude, the popular chatbot of anthropic, deploys a vocal mode to all its users of mobile applications. During his stay in beta, the new voice mode will be in English and accessible to users on all current levels, including the free plan.
Vocal mode with Claude works like the vocal mode in Gemini or Chatgpt. In fact, you press an icon that seems almost identical to the Gemini Live icon to activate it.
Once the vocal mode is activated, you simply start talking to Claude to hear his vocal responses. As he speaks, he displays his key points on the screen, which allows you to switch transparent between the text and the voice in the same conversation.
You get five different Claude votes, depending on the documentation of the Claude vocal mode, and you can change between them at any time by simply going to the parameters, then to the vocal preferences.
Hey Claude
You can get an overview of how the Voice mode will work in Claude thanks to an anthropic practical video has published on X.com:
We deploy vocal mode in mobile beta. Try to start a voice conversation and ask Claude to summarize your calendar or search for your documents. pic.twitter.com/xvo5vhicebMay 27, 2025
The video shows how, simply speaking to Claude (even by brushing your teeth), you can get the AI to check your calendar, search in your Gmail or Google Drive reception box, and even write an email for you.
This type of capacity is firmly evolving the role of a digital assistant, but it should be noted that the integrations of the Gmail and Google calendar are only available on the paces of Claude, which start at $ 20 (around £ 16 / $ 32 in) for a PRO account and go up to $ 200 (around £ 148 / $ 311 per month for max 20x.
Limits of use
You do not get unlimited access to vocal conversations in Claude. Each conversation counts for your regular use limits according to your subscription plan.
Free users of Claude can expect around 20 to 30 voice messages before reaching the session limits, while paid plans have much higher limits.
Vocal mode is a timely upgrade to Claude, who was lagging behind his rivals, Chatgpt and Gemini, not providing vocal mode. Anthropic has also just updated Claude’s LLM to Claude Opus 4.0 and Claude Sonnet 4.0. OPUS 4.0 is a powerful AI model that excels in coding, while Sonnet is a light model designed for regular use and large improvement compared to the previous Sonnet 3.7 model.
