- Claude offers all its users double usage for two weeks
- Bonus redemption can only be used outside of peak hours
- Users flocked to Claude for his stance on military AI
We know that AI chatbot users have been flocking to Claude in recent days – in part due to parent company Anthropic taking over deals with the US military – and now all Claude users will benefit from double the usage limits for the next two weeks.
According to Claude’s official account on X, the gesture is “a little thank you” to the users. It applies to all usage types, all subscription tiers and plans (including the free tier), and no action is required to enable it.
There’s a catch, though: These extra usage limits are only available outside of peak hours. Weekdays, it’s 5am to 11am PT – or 8am to 2pm ET, 12pm to 6pm GMT, and 11pm to 5am if you’re using Claude in Australia.

On weekends you can enjoy additional usage limits all day, maybe it’s the best time to create something with Claude Code, or try the new interactive visualizations feature which has just been deployed on the AI chatbot.
Until March 27

You can find more information on the usage promotion page. The offer is valid from Friday March 13 to Friday March 27. Business accounts are not eligible for the promotion and using the bonus does not count towards your weekly limits.
If you’re wondering what your current usage limits are, it’s complicated: it depends on everything from the complexity of your prompts to how long your conversations last before starting a new chat. Obviously, the more you pay, the more you use.
As we’ve previously reported, even those with paid subscriptions don’t get unlimited chats with Claude, so you may find yourself in buffers sooner than expected. With that in mind, this use of the bonus should be welcome to everyone.
Claude’s principles on AI ethics and military use have led to its abandonment by US government agencies, so White House and Pentagon staff are among those who will not be able to take advantage of this promotion.
