Cm gandapur moves pHc for recognition PTI

Peshawar:

The chief minister of KP, Ali Amin Gandapur, filed a brief request before the High Court of Peshawar (PHC) requesting the official recognition of the PTI as a political party.

The petition appoints the Federal Government, the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP) and other relevant institutions as respondents. He questions article 94 (4) of the 2017 electoral rules, arguing that it contradicts the 2017 law on the election.

According to the petition, PTI is still a functional political party and currently has the majority of the KP assembly. However, ECP excluded the PTI of the definition of a political party, citing the absence of an electoral symbol.
