CM hosts the forum to discuss the transition of CPPs to nightclubs

Sindh -chief Minister Murad Ali Shah organized a high -level forum on Sunday to bring together the leaders of federal ministers and industrialists in order to discuss questions surrounding the compulsory transition from power plants in captivity to electricity distribution companies (DISCO), in accordance with a recent cabinet decision.

The meeting decided that all the proposals and reservations expressed by manufacturers would be submitted to the Prime Minister for its final decision, according to a press release from CM House. It has also been decided that the Prime Minister would be invited to build a committee to determine the transition period concerning the taxation of samples.

The chief minister categorically declared that the gas withdrawn from captive power plants after the transfer of industrial units to the national network must remain in the province.

The meeting served as a platform to reflect between manufacturers and representatives of the federal government in order to establish a calendar for the transition of captive power plants to nightclubs.

Reunion, held at CM House, brought together the CM Murad Ali Shah, the federal finance minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Minister of Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, the Minister of Power Awais Leghari, the special assistant of PM Rana Sanaullah, Mnas Syed Naveed Qamar, Asad Alam, Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Secretary Asif Asif Hyder, Mirza Seccenaries, Secretary of Mirza, Secretary, Secretary of the Secretary, Chief Secretary, Secretary Chief Asif Hyde concerned, MD SSGC, CEO Moonis Alvi and the main industrialists of the city, including Zubair Motiwala, Shabir Diwan, Jawed Balwani and others.

The meeting focused on in -depth discussions concerning the proposed increase in the captive power rate. “There are about 660 captive power plants in the Sindh,” said the CM. “Industrialists have raised concerns about the proposed price hike. We devoted ourselves this Sunday to listen to them,” he added.

The chief minister expressed his gratitude to the federal government of having agreed to hear the concerns of first -hand industrialists. He urged federal ministers to collect comments directly from industry stakeholders before making decisions.

Federal Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, while informing participants, said: “We are here today at the invitation of the Sindh government to listen to the concerns of industrialists. The country’s economy is growing, and this progress includes the efforts of all stakeholders. The Prime Minister has ordered us to introduce policies that guarantee industrial growth.”

Petroleum Minister Ali Perviz Malik stressed that President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP president Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also stressed the importance of solving industrial problems in the Sindh. He recognized CM Shah’s efforts and commitment during a previous zoom meeting with manufacturers.

The Minister of Power Awais Leghari informed the meeting that a 30% reduction in industrial prices has already been implemented. He added that distribution companies (DISCO) improve their operations and that a feasibility plan for 7,000 MW of electricity production is ready.
