Sindh -chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, a meeting on Monday, presided over the progress in the ongoing repression against illegal fire limits and unauthorized oil tankers in the metropolitan city. The mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, informed the session that 243 illegal villages had been demolished so far, 212 first registered and 103 people arrested. He added that around 3,200 oil tankers had been recorded through QR codes, which had not only improved the distribution of water but also increased revenues from the Karachi Water and Sewrage Corporation by 60 million rupees. The chief minister ordered that the campaign against the illegal oil mafia must continue tirelessly until the threat is completely eradicated. In addition, CM Shah announced that Sindh had sufficient wheat reserves – 1.3 million tonnes – to meet demand until February 2026, with the new harvest expected in March. Chairing a meeting at its office to examine the situation of wheat and supply, it was informed that the requirement of monthly wheat for the Sindh and Balutchistan was 400,000 tonnes, while an additional 600,000 tonnes are available on the free market. The chief minister underlined the need to maintain strategic reserves and asked the food service to write a wheat release policy for approval. He also directed strict monitoring of wheat flour prices to prevent unnecessary hikes and ensure the affordability of the public. CM Shah reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensure food security and price stability in the Sindh. Meanwhile, the chief minister said that the elimination of the Dacoits of the Katcha regions was not negotiable and must be ensured at all costs. He said this by presiding over a high -level meeting at his office which was summoned to examine the current operation against the bandits. CM Shah ordered the police to intensify intelligence -based operations (IBOS), in particular in the river areas affected by floods. "With parts of the Katcha belt flooded due to recent floods, criminal elements are probably moved. This presents the opportunity to eradicate them. The operation must be accelerated," He added. CM Shah asked the Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah to design a full infrastructure development plan for the river belt. The plan would include the construction of roads, schools, hospitals, dispensaries and the supply of transport facilities. He assured that rehabilitation and development work would begin as soon as flood waters are retreating. The meeting was followed by the Minister of the Interior, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, the mayor Murtaza Wahab, the chief secretary asif Haider Shah, the IGP Ghumlam Nabi Memon, the interior secretary Iqbal Memon, the principal secretary Agha Wasay, the commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi and other senior officials. The meeting briefing, the IGP Memon and the Minister of the Interior have said that since October 2024, technology -oriented operations had been launched in the Katcha region. Between January 2024 and September 2025, a total of 760 targeted operations and 352 research operations were carried out. During this period, 159 dacoits were killed, including 10 in Sukkur, 14 in Ghotki, 46 in Kashmore and 89 in Shikarpur, while 823 suspects were arrested. Eight most sought after criminals were also neutralized. The organizations responsible for the application of laws recovered 962 weapons of various calibers during operations. Stressing the strategic importance of infrastructure, the chief minister said that the construction of the Ghotki-Kandhkot bridge would improve regional connectivity and contribute to restoring public order. "The absolute priority of the Sindh government is the maintenance of peace and security in the province," He added.
