CM Punjab launches the second phase of the clinics on wheels

Punjab Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the second phase of the “Clinical On Wheels” project in Lahore, aimed at providing improved health services to residents.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Punjab CM stressed that more than ten million patients have received treatment in mobile clinics 911 operating through Punjab in recent months.

She added that the project is currently providing free medical care to more than 45,000 people a day throughout the province.

Maryam Nawaz said that newly launched vehicles are fully air -conditioned and equipped with the necessary medical facilities, operating as fully operational clinics with doctors and medical staff on board.

To improve surveillance, a monitoring system has been introduced to monitor the performance of mobile clinics and ensure that they are reaching their expected impact.

The program initially deployed nearly 250 vehicles during its first phase. With the increase in the number of units, the project now aims to serve around 4 million people in all Punjab districts.

These mobile clinics, serving urban and rural populations, will provide a range of services, including childbirth, essential medical care and diagnostic facilities.

Particular attention has been drawn to patients in distant areas that receive up to two months of drugs through this initiative.

It paid tribute to the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, noting that their terms have seen significant progress in the Punjab health sector.

She added that her government is committed to building a complete health system to provide accessible medical services throughout the province.

In addition to the mobile clinics, the chief minister announced his intention to establish modern cardiology centers in eight cities, including Mianwali, Gujranwala, Siackot, Jhelum, Sahiwal, Murrier and Layyah.
