The chief minister of Punjab (CM) Maryam Nawaz revealed ambitious plans to improve public schools in the province with smart classrooms and digital laboratories, marking a step towards the integration of modern technology in traditional education.
Speaking during the digital learning day, the chief minister Maryam stressed that in today’s world, technological progress and education go hand in hand.
“Development is now linked to technology, and young people from Punjab must be equipped with the skills necessary to meet the demands of the modern world,” she said.
The chief minister underlined the government’s efforts to create opportunities for students to align themselves with international market demands, in particular by the introduction of advanced IT training programs.
As part of these efforts, Punjab offers students access to international IT lessons, including artificial intelligence (AI), software development and freelancers.
Maryam stressed that these initiatives will allow young people to obtain certification in computer courses that meet the needs of the global labor market.
In addition, CM announced the creation of the first “Nawaz Sharif It City” from Pakistan to Lahore.
The city will showcase advanced installations, with the completion of the twin towers expected later this year.
The IT city will also house a Plug-And-Play call center, offering both educational opportunities and employment in the IT sector.
In particular, international IT universities have expressed their interest in establishing campuses in the computer city, further strengthening the region’s digital education infrastructure.
Maryam Nawaz stressed that the current digitization efforts would allow young people, offering them the autonomy, growth and success of the global economy. This initiative aims to transform Punjab into a hub for innovation and economic development focused on IT.
