CM underlines the urgency, the responsibility of the anti-political discs

While presiding over a meeting of the provincial polio working group, the chief minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah underlined the need for responsibility at all levels. He said: “Every failed child is a potential case.”

The Minister of Health, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, and EOC Irshad Sodhar manager gave a detailed briefing to the chief minister during the next anti-political campaign.

Polio remains a threat

The CM said that polio continues to constitute a threat that paralyzes our children. “We regularly make efforts of all time and regularly make meetings of the provincial working group to send a clear and strong message to the whole administration to launch the campaign as a mission,” he said. The Minister of Health, Dr. Azra, informed the CM that 10 cases of wild polio had been reported in Pakistan so far in 2025, including four of Sindh. In addition, 11 of the 35 evacuation samples taken between April 7 and April 24 were tested positive for wild poliovirus, indicating the circulation of the continuous virus.

Target of the May campaign

The May campaign will reach more than 10.6 million children under the age of five in 1,292 union councils in the 30 Sindh districts. The operation will be supported by more than 80,000 leading workers trained and 25,539 staff members responsible for the application of laws, including police officers.

Take up the refusals

To meet persistent challenges in high -risk areas, especially in Karachi, 157 doctors were deployed to target 6,780 sick refusals. The CM ordered to activate the refusal conversion committees (RCC) in UCFULING UCS.
