The chief of the staff of the army (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, categorically declared that Pakistan would not allow fitna-al-Khawarij to impose their ideology in Pakistan but has left room for A possible leniency if such erroneous groups go and place themselves at the mercy of the state.
Addressing a group of university students, the head of the army described Fitna-Al Khawarij-a term used for terrorists belonging to Pakistan of Tehreek-E-Taliban Prohibition (TTP)-as an ignorant disruptive group of Islam and completely external to its lessons.
The interaction with the students took place in GHQ on Wednesday, but certain parts of its candid remarks surfaced on social networks on Sunday. “We fight the anarchists of Fitna-Al-Khawarij. These external elements distort the true teachings of Islam and violate its principles,” he said.
“We are fighting like comrades, and it is the beauty of the army – there is no Sindhi, Baloutch, Punjabi or Pachtoune; we are all Pakistanis,” said the army chief.
Quoting verses from the Holy Quran, General Asim Munnir has strengthened his position on Fitna Khawarij, declaring that the Koran had clearly prescribed serious sanctions for those who wage war in Allah and his Messenger (PSL) and have spread the anarchy on earth.
Referring to Koranic lessons, he said: “For those who wage war in Allah and his messenger and create a disorder in the country, their punishment is the execution, the crucifixion, the amputation of their hands and their feet, Or exiled from the country.
The chief of staff of the army also explained that those who wanted to avoid divine punishment should surrender and submit, because Allah is the most indulgent and the most merciful, and the state could also show mercy in such cases. “Those who go to the state can expect mercy,” he said.
On the subject of women’s rights, General Asim Munnir said: “Islam has raised women to the highest status, whether as mother, woman or sister. Who are you to remove their dignity, and who gave you the right to do so? No one can remove their rights. “”
His remarks seem to be intended for the Afghan Taliban, who have prohibited the education of girls.
General Asim Munnir reiterated that the Pakistani army fighting against corrupt elements that have misinterpreted Islam. He said the Khawarij violated Islamic lessons and that religion had clear directives concerning these troublemakers.
During his interaction, the head of the army encouraged students to seek excellence in their academic activities and to develop skills that would allow them to contribute positively to the country’s progress. He also shared a perspective on the impact of the external environment on Pakistan, in particular the threat of cross -border terrorism.
The army chief welcomed young people with their energy, his creativity and his ability to innovate, saying that they were the future leaders in Pakistan.
