Coas emphasizes the need for an effective civilian bureaucracy in the development of Pakistan

The Chief of Staff of the Field Army, Marshal Asim Munir, said on Friday that Islamabad was looking for peaceful and cooperative relations with Afghanistan and warned Kabul against the authorization of terrorist proxies sponsored by India to operate from his soil.

“We are only asking for one thing: do not give way to India terrorist proxies-Fitna al-Hind and Fitna al-Khawarij,” he said, addressed officers of the 52nd training program joint in Islamabad.

He argued that Afghanistan remains a “fraternal and neighboring Islamic country”, but it must act in a responsible manner and slow down the influence of hostile forces operating on its territory.

The COAs underlined the crucial role of a transparent and effective civilian bureaucracy in national development, stressing that its structure based on services is essential in the state system.

He also underlined the need for institutional cohesion and mutual understanding between civil and military leaders.

The officers, during their training, had been closely associated with the Pakistani army training in operational areas such as cashmere, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balutchistan.

In his speech, COs discussed national security, internal and external challenges and the vital role of the armed forces in the safeguard of regional peace and stability.

He urged officers to embody the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and patriotism in their functions.

He also stressed the importance of interinstitutional cooperation and mutual respect in the advancement of strategic and development objectives of Pakistan.

COAS remarks have also highlighted the need for a civilian bureaucracy capable of effectively managing state affairs and contributing to the development of the country.

He also expressed his conviction that such collaboration between civil and military sectors would help strengthen Pakistan’s position on the world scene.

The meeting ended with an interactive session of questions and answers, reflecting a spirit of shared responsibility and the collective commitment to the progress of Pakistan.
