Crypto Exchange Coinbase won a Luxembourg license in the European Union markets in crypto assets (MICA), the company announced in a press release.
The exchange, which is the fifth largest exchange of crypto in volume according to Coingecko, will now be able to offer services in the 30 nations of the European Economic Area.
He joined other major exchanges that obtained the Mica license. Bybit, the second largest exchange obtained its Mica license since Austria in May, while OKX and Crypto.com obtained their Mica licenses in Malta.
Although the EU Mica license grants businesses access to all European Union nations plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, the Bloc countries have always linked to attract large cryptographic companies.
“Luxembourg has always been a key player in the Europe’s financial ecosystem, and we are delighted to share that Coinbase officially establishes its European crypto hub in this dynamic country, under the markets of crypto assets regulatory framework (mica),” said Coinbase in his declaration.
Luxembourg has adopted four policies related to blockchain through the national legislature, said Coinbase.
