In a video circulating on social media, Coldplay’s Chris Martin invited a Pakistani fan on stage during a concert. He also won hearts by acknowledging tragedies across the world and dedicating the next song to all those affected by them.
“You have traveled 10,000 kilometers,” he admitted, addressing the supporter. “I traveled yesterday from Los Angeles and as I was leaving everything was on fire and it was a very strange thing. So maybe we could sing this song for your brothers and sisters in Pakistan and our brothers and sisters in Iran, West Bank, and Gaza.”
He further shared that he will also dedicate the song to his friend Zeppelin, adding that the track is about missing someone dear to you. “This is Everglow. This is for you, Kinza. Thanks for coming,” he expressed, receiving one final round of applause for his speech before beginning his performance.
Earlier, Martin also had a crossover moment when he read a fan’s poster, which contained Diljit Dosanjh’s iconic words, “Punjabi aa gaye oye”. (The Punjabis have arrived.) The clip was shared by Dosanjh’s Instagram Stories handle with the caption: “Chris Martin reading Coldplay posters and fan flags is so wholesome.”
The atmosphere of the concert is there for the group, which lit up the stage in Abu Dhabi. “You are a sky full of stars, Abu Dhabi. Thank you for another beautiful night,” the group wrote on Instagram Stories.
Under a magical carousel of photos from the show, fans were amazed by yet another dazzling performance from the musical group. Love flooded the comments section, as did melancholy. “These images remind me of what it feels like. Coldplay is an extra sensory experience. We want to see you again in my country,” hoped a fan.
“My loves, what a wonderful sight! You are always wonderful and bring us joy and love. I love you,” another fan exclaimed. Looking back on the show, one user kindly recalled: “It was an incredible and unforgettable experience.” Others thanked the group for making their dreams come true with this concert, highlighting how enchanting their stage performances were.
“Thank you Coldplay… your music, your values, your love, your acceptance, your humility, your talent and the fact that you are the voice we need to hear most in this world of chaos are widely appreciated all over the world ” one fan said poignantly. Additionally, passionate requests filled the comments section, begging the group to visit other countries and cities. The echoes of “London,” “Brazil” and “Mexico” stood out from many others.
