Collin Morikawa would like to forget his trip abroad.
The double major champion, which won the 2021 open championship at the Royal St. Georges in England, missed the Cup both at the Scottish Open and the last major this year in Royal Portrush.
In a normal golf season, players can refine their game for the end of the regular season to prepare for the FEXEX Cup qualifiers – but this year, there is undoubtedly an even greater opportunity.

The Ryder Cup returns to the United States this year, with the 2025 edition heading towards Bethpage Black in Farmingale, New York. Morikawa played for Team USA four times – two Ryder Cups and two Cups of the Presidents. He also participated in the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games.
Morikawa, 28, thinks it is the “greatest honor”.
“Whenever you have red, white and blue, it’s like nothing else,” Morikawa told PK Press Club Digital in a recent interview.
“We play such an individual sport – even if we have a team behind us, we are those who get all the credit when we play. But when you play for red, white and blue, when you represent your country, whether it is the Cup of Presidents, the Olympic Games, the Ryder Cup, it is the big country. For your team, it is really the greatest honor.
“That’s all you can ask for, and when you have this weight that you hold this week, and you represent this, you will never lose that. This is something you will wear for the rest of your life, but at that time, you want to do everything you can to bring the best golf and human that you are.”

PGA MORIKAWA COLLIN DE PGA says with “HAPPY GILMORE 2” was obvious: “immediate yes”
Morikawa has only three finishes in the top-20 or better since the RBC heritage three months ago. However, he has already been at the top of sport and knows what it takes for a quick turnaround.
“It’s so interesting. Sometimes you feel like you are so far from a big golf course, but you are actually much closer than you. It is a diploma here and there, a rebound here and there, a break in the first or second round that changes just in a way all week,” said Morikawa. “We play four days, it’s a lot of golf, it’s a lot of time on which you have to linger, but it’s just a little thing, and you never know what it will be.
“This is why we wake up every day, continue to work to try to improve. You have to accept it, and that is just part of what we are doing. Yes, last month was not what I wanted, but that does not mean that tomorrow cannot be great, does not mean that the playoffs will not be incredible, you just have to continue to work and not give up essentially.”
Morikawa is currently ranking eighth among American golfers in the Fedex Cup points after his trip to the United Kingdom – the first six qualified automatically for the 12 men team. His recent difficulties, especially abroad, have no favor, and he knows it.

However, with the mentality of never give up he expressed, he feels that he can be very good (his veteran presence surely gives him some bonus points).
“It’s a bit of work to reach this six automatic,” said Morikawa, “but I hoped very.”
