The Washington Commanders took the most criticism Sunday after quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome arm injury during the team’s 38-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Daniels was injured with the team down 31 points with 7:39 to play, and it’s likely he’ll miss the rest of the year because of it.

Commanders head coach Dan Quinn was criticized on social media for keeping Daniels in the game with an already insurmountable score.

Quinn didn’t have an answer as to why Daniels was still in the match. Washington was driving onto the field when the injury occurred. Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez scored on the next play.

“Obviously, like in hindsight, you don’t want to think that way, where an injury could happen,” Quinn said. “Obviously we’re more conservative in this area to run and pass and not have reads to make, but just the end result – obviously I’m disappointed.”

Commanders players were visibly emotional as medical personnel tended to the quarterback.

“It’s really tough to see him go down. You just want to keep him positive,” Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner said. “You don’t know what the outcome is. You just talk about a lot of positivity. He’s a very positive person, so we’re just praying for the best.”

Washington’s second-year star was already dealing with injuries throughout the season. This plagued the team after appearing in the NFC Championship Game last year.

“I didn’t see exactly what happened. I just heard a pause and I kind of put my head down and prayed for him,” said Commander Guard Sam Cosmi. “You just don’t want that to happen.”
