With the completion of the first phase of military operation in Kurram district, the KP government has decided to resume the process of demolition of illegal bunkers in the area and send four convoys of vehicles to Kurram carrying supplies essential by the end of the month.

Security forces have launched house-to-house search operations in Bagan and repair work on damaged mosques has also begun. The bullet-riddled body of a fifth driver, missing after the attack on the humanitarian caravan, was found in the center of Kurram. The bodies of four drivers had already been found the day after the deadly attack.

The Kurram District Deputy Commissioner said that the coordinated efforts of the civil administration, police, security institutions and local councilors resulted in remarkable results during the first phase of the operation, as A large cache of illegal weapons has been recovered. He said efforts were on to rid Kurram district of unscrupulous elements.

Meanwhile, a high-level meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur to discuss the current situation in the restive Kurram district.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Additional Chief Secretary Home and other concerned officials. The group decided to resume the process of demolishing illegal bunkers in the area and send four convoys of vehicles to Kurram carrying essential supplies by the end of the month.

He also decided to convene a Jirga of the signatories of the Kurram Peace Accord with the aim of highlighting and emphasizing the responsibilities of the signatories in implementing the agreement.
