- Rumor wants Nvidia to cut the production of RTX 5000 GPU production
- Manufacturing levels are considering a reduction of 20%, or more, in July
- If it is true, like the effects of this filter, we can expect the prices to increase by September
Nvidia could consider reducing the production of its RTX 5000 graphics cards, according to a new rumor, which would of course mean less stock on the shelves.
The Japanese technology blog Gazlog noticed a post in Chiphell (via WCCFTECH) saying that this is the case, and that Nvidia has already reduced the supply of its Blackwell graphics cards in June.
We are told that in May 2025, the RTX 5000 offer stabilized and that the GPU stock levels increased, the prices lowered – in some cases, below the PDSF. Team Green has apparently decided to reduce stock levels from July, the offer should drop between 20% and 30% compared to June – and as indicated, there has already been a drop in production for June.
Of course, thinner quantities of inventory would mean that the possible spectrum of the increase in GPU prices, but we must be very cautious around speculation diffused here. Especially since it derives from Chiphell, which is not always the most reliable source – although it has provided material rumors which have proved true in the past.
Analysis: Quickly enter a GPU?
It is a rumor that I would be particularly prudent to see that the theorized decrease in production is heavy. If this is true, however, this would indeed mean that the prices of NVIDIA RTX 5000 GPUs should certainly increase.
Why would Nvidia plan such a move? Well, part of the assertion made here is that prices have dropped too much, due to the strengthening of GPU stocks beyond the demand that exists. Another theory is that Nvidia may want to allocate chips elsewhere, namely graphics cards for China, mainly the new version of the GeForce RTX 5090 D (the Asian variant of the Blackwell lighthouse). The latter looks like a sufficiently plausible scenario, certainly.
Of course, if production is indeed adjusted as this rumor suggests, the effects will not be felt immediately, but rather in a few months. (As there are already chips that are distributed, of course, in the long chain of events that occurs when setting up graphics cards).
What is equivalent is that the prices prospect increases around September, and quite funny, this idea Jives with other gossip of the GPU vine that we have heard lately. Namely, the speculation of Moore’s law is dead on YouTube which, due to various factors – relating to prices, as well as material improvements due to the end of the management of Windows 10 – The price increases of graphics cards arrive in the fourth 2025 (from October, in other words).
All of this, given this new rumor, is added to a very strong distinction which could now be the best time to buy a GPU, especially if you look at one of the NVIDIA RTX 5000 models. And with a great listening day about to occur – and the first offers already available, in fact – you may want to keep an attentive eye on potential GPU deals. All graphics cards at reduced prices could represent the cheapest prices that you might see this year, because the Black Frida will be too late to avoid what is in the pipeline in terms of price increases, at least in theory.
