California Governor Gavin Newsom was criticized on the comments he made on transgender inclusion in female and girls in the first episode of his podcast on Thursday.
Newsom was invited by the guest Charlie Kirk, an eminent conservative who founded Turning Point USA, on the problem of the podcast “This Gavin Newsom”.
“The young man who is about to win the state championship during the long jump in female sports, that should not happen,” said Kirk. “You, as governor, should go out and say no. Would you do something like that? Female sports? “”

“I think it is a problem of equity. I fully agree with you. It is a problem of equity – it is deeply unfair,” Newsom told Kirk. “I do not fight with the problem of equity. I totally agree with you.”
Kirk also insisted Newsom on the conviction of the recent victory of a transgender athlete with a jump of more than 40 feet in secondary school Jurupa Valley in southern California. Newsom did not say the victory directly, but said “it is a problem of equity”.
“So it’s easy to call injustice,” he said. “There is also a humility and a grace. … These poor are more likely to commit suicide, to take anxiety and depression. And the way people speak to vulnerable communities is a problem with which I also have trouble.
“So, the two things that I can hold in my hand. How can we solve this problem with the type of decency that I think, you know, is inherent in you but not always expressed on the question?”
Newsom, who agreed that the question was something that the Democratic Party is “crushed”, faced criticism from conservatives and liberals for his comments.
While Newsom said he agreed with Kirk that there was a “equity” problem with regard to transplant inclusion in female sports, California resisted the executive decree “No Men in Women’s Sports” by President Donald Trump who prohibits the biological men of female girls and sports.

California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) said last month that it would continue to allow transgender athletes to participate in female and girls sports, citing state law.

“The CIF offers students the possibility of belonging, connecting and competing in experience -based experiences in accordance with the law of California [Education Code section 221.5. (f)] This allows students to participate in school programs and activities, including sports teams and competitions, in accordance with the student’s identity of the student, regardless of the genre listed on student files, “said a CIF press release at the time.
PK Press Club Digital reacted to the CIF for his reaction to Newsom’s latest comments.
Riley Gaines, the former NCAA athlete who welcomes Outkick’s “Gaines” Podcast “and defended equity in female sports, was among the conservatives who spoke.
Eminent LGBTQ lawyers have also scanned on Newsom.
“Gavin Newsom knows that the problem of young people in sports is a effort of ridiculous and right propaganda. He knows that this is propelled by anti-transal hatred, and not reason,” wrote Charlotte Clymer on X. “And yet he chose to attack attacks against young Trans to strengthen his national profile for a presidential race in 2028.
“He chose to treat young Trans as disposable negotiation schools in his efforts to look at anti-trans conservatives. He decided that the young Trans, one of the most vulnerable groups in the country, are a fair game. And he did it in an interview with Charlie Kirk, who spent his career in dehumanization of trans people.

The member of the California Assembly Chris Ward and Senator Caroline Menjivar also published a joint declaration. They are the president and vice-president of the California legislative LGBTQ Caucus.
“Sometimes Gavin Newsom will seek the profile of courage, sometimes not. We woke up deeply ill and frustrated by these remarks,” they said, via Kcra-TV. “All students deserve the academic advantages and for the health of sporting activity, and until Donald Trump begins to be obsessed on this subject, playing in a team consistent with his sex has not been a problem since the adoption of the standard in 2013.”
Earlier this week, the Senate Democrats blocked the protection of women and girls in the Sports Act to break an obstacle. The bill obtained 51 votes but needed 60 to erase a procedural obstacle.
