- Coros launched the Nomad smartwatch
- It has a variety of features for hikers, climbers, fishermen and more
- He clashes with the impressive Garmin Instinct 3
Regarding smartwatches and fitness trackers, the Garmin Instinct 3 is a real favorite here in Techradar – we gave it an almost perfect score when we examined it, and we recommend it as one of the best racing watches without hesitation. However, a rival device has just launched that could potentially give him a race for his money, all at a more affordable price.
This is because Coros has just announced the SmartWatch Nomad, and he behaves in a series of intriguing features. Coros says it is “specially designed for outdoor adventurers” with tools that are made to measure for hikers, climbers, fishermen, etc.
One of the main features is a new adventure log within the Coros application, which can be used to mark locations, save voice notes and store photos and videos, the idea being that you can relive the best moments of your outdoor activities on a later date.
On the material side, there is a MIP screen for great clarity in the shiny sun or the low light, plus an aluminum and polymer telescope, a hardened mineral glass and a water resistance up to 50 meters. You also get double -frequency GPs for navigation, as well as a wide range of outdoor sports modes, including eight different fishing modes.
Coros says that when you run all-system GPS mode, you will get 50 hours of autonomy. In standard use, which increases up to 22 days of juice. These two figures blow in front of the 32 hours and 18 days of instinct 3, respectively (although we will have to confirm the lifespan of the nomad battery in real world tests to be sure).
When we examined the Garmin Instinct 3, we were really impressed by its MIP display and its wide range of fitness tools. The good news here is that the Coros Nomad is also fairly strong in these areas, but is a price of $ 349 / £ 319 – less than the most affordable Garmin Instinct 3, which starts at $ 399 / £ 349.
While Coros will have work to do to beat the tastes of instinct 3, the company is known for making smart sterling watches, it will therefore be interesting to see how the two compare themselves in daily scenarios. If you are looking for a new smartwatch and you like what Coros has to offer, however, it could be worth it.
