Crafts Bazaar presents cultural heritage

The Nomad Art Gallery gave life to Islamabad with a dynamic cultural event which has transparent art, crafts and cinema into an inspiring experience for visitors from all walks of life. The event attracted diplomats, artists, entrepreneurs and public members to celebrate the various cultural heritage of Pakistan.

The event was inaugurated by the Austrian ambassador to Pakistan, Andrea Wicke, alongside the ambassadors of Ireland and Jordan. In their opening remarks, the dignitaries stressed the vital role that art and culture play in the promotion of peace, tolerance and understanding of communities. Ambassador Andrea Wicke, in particular, highlighted the power of cultural expression for the divisions and promoting dialogue.

A major culmination of the event was the craft bazaar, which offered a carefully organized selection of crafts in hand from all of Pakistan. The bazaar presented a colorful and captivating showcase of textiles, jewelry, accessories and interior decoration, all made by talented craftsmen representing a wide range of cultural traditions.

Visitors had the rare opportunity to interact with craftsmen, understand the stories behind their work and buy items directly – supporting local talents and community entrepreneurship.

The exhibitions included a diverse range of products from the craft partners of Nomad Art Gallery distributed across the country. These included vibrant Ajrak prints from the Sindh, finely woven cashmiriens and embroidery, ecological print textiles, handmade toys by Granmani and silver jewelry exquisite by Amna Shariff and the SS collection.

The event highlighted the immense potential of the traditional craft sector of Pakistan, in particular when supported by platforms that appreciate cultural integrity and sustainability.
