Criminals claim to be Microsoft, Google and Apple in phishing attacks

Phishing attacks at the top of the tables for the most popular intrusion points for cybercriminals still and still, and new research of Check Point reveals the most commonly imitated companies for the first quarter of 2025. Criminals that are the identity of Microsoft were by far the most common, representing 36% of social engineering attacks linked to the brand observed in the study.

Following behind Google and Apple, representing 12% and 8% respectively – which means that more than half of all incidents (56%) come from a false address associated with one of these three brands.
