Pearl of the Abyss Crimson Desert is gradually moving from mixed reception to positive reception among fans, especially on Steam, and the developers’ quick action has played a major role in this.
A new Crimson Desert The patch has been rolled out to all platforms, including numerous bug fixes, performance improvements, UI updates, and stability fixes, and Pearl Abyss has also promised support for Intel GPUs.
Notably, it also made changes to the game’s boss encounters, effectively reducing the overall aggressiveness of the AI.

Boss encounters were one of the biggest hurdles for reviewers, and that was certainly the case for me. Bosses often left players with little room to fight back against their near-constant attacks, even after using revive tools.
Some patch notes highlight changes such as reducing “the health and attack of specific enemies and bosses”, and “adjusting some attack patterns for Kearush the Slayer”, a boss that has notoriously frustrated most players.
Further inventory management adjustments have been made via the addition of camp storage, meaning the game should run much smoother with less tedious looting.
Perhaps more importantly, Pearl Abyss’ commitment to support for Intel Arc GPUs is a good sign that it is not resting on its laurels and has apologized for its misunderstanding regarding frequently asked questions (FAQ).
“We are currently working on compatibility and optimization so that Crimson Desert can also be enjoyed on Intel Arc GPU systems,” Pearl Abyss said on X. “We apologize for any confusion that our FAQ wording from several hours ago regarding gameplay on Intel Arc GPUs may have caused.”
Many have also argued that Arc GPU support should have been available from day one (which I would agree with), but it’s good to see that the development team isn’t abandoning Intel hardware after initial fears.
The speed at which new Pearl Abyss patches are rolling out is incredible to see, and contrary to what many players expect; These days, game studios can take months to deliver bug fixes and other vital improvements. Hopefully Pearl Abyss will continue to reach this high bar.
