Riyadh: The Portuguese Legend of Football Cristiano Ronaldo agreed to extend his contract with the Saudi club Al Nassr for another year, keeping him to the club until June 2026, according to a team official who spoke to AFP Monday.
The official said that the parties agreed on the renewable extension of the Ronaldo contract, “but he has not yet been signed. An ad will be made in the coming days”.
Ronaldo was 40 years old last week, with his current contract which should end in June 2025.
The former Manchester United star, Real Madrid and Juventus joined Al Nassr in January 2023 and has since scored 82 goals in 90 games.
In August, Ronaldo said that he would stay with Al Nassr until the end of his professional career, which could be “soon or in two or three years”.
“But it will most likely happen with Al Nassr, in the team that makes me happy … and where I feel good.”
The great Portuguese seemed to exchange a career salary for the darkness of football when he moved to Al Nassr de Riyadh two years ago in an agreement that was worth 250 million dollars.
