On Friday, the Punjab Department of Counter-Terrorism (CTD) said that it thwarted major terrorist land by arresting three terrorists in Faisalabad linked to the India Intelligence Agency, Wing and Analysis Wing (RAW), Express News reported.
According to a spokesperson for the CTD, the arrests were made during an intelligence based on Pathan Colony on Jhang Road. The terrorists provided for coordinated attacks in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Pakpattan during Eidul Azha.
The spokesman said the terrorists were affiliated with the prohibited group Fitna al-Khawarij and had crossed the border illegally several times to meet raw agents in Srinagar and Rajasthan. A cache of explosives, detonators and firearms has been recovered from their possession, said the CTD.

The initial surveys suggested that the terrorists were in contact with foreign managers via WhatsApp, through which they shared sensitive location cards and received instructions, added the spokesperson.
The CTD argued that the terrorists had finalized plans to target the key sites during the Eid holidays. A case was recorded in Faisalabad, and a more in -depth investigation is underway.
The spokesman said the arrests helped to avoid what could have been a large-scale destruction during the festive period, adding that efforts were underway to retrace additional network members.
