- The Lenovo Legion Go 2 prototype surpasses the Claw A8 MSI in a new reference video
- The MSI Claw A8 presented in the video A 16 GB of RAM, while the Legion Go 2 A 24 GB
- The prototype of the Legion Go 2 is available on used markets in China, but has not yet launched officially
While we are approaching the latest stages of 2025, several new contenders are about to enter the PC Porte -play market – and one of them in particular, the Lenovo Legion Go 2, seems to make a big impression.
As highlighted by Notebookcheck, the Lenovo Legion Go 2 surpasses the MSI Claw A8, according to a new reference of Lines Tech on YouTube. In Shadow of the Tomb RaiderThe MSI Claw A8 reached an average of 44 IPS, while the Lenovo Legion Go 2 had an average of 49 IPS, the latter producing 10% of better performance.
The Lenovo Legion Go 2 is still in its prototype phase, but is already available on used markets in China. The GO 2 legion and the MSI Claw A8 use the Extreme Ryzen Z2 processor of AMD, so it can be a little confusing to see the first managing better performance.
However, this more likely comes back to the amount of RAM available; The MSI Claw A8 has 16 GB of RAM, while the Legion Go 2 A 24 GB, 8 GB more. It should also be noted that the Go 2 Legion seems to have a reserved space processor name, but we know that it has the IGPU which is in the extreme Ryzen Z2, which is the Radeon 890m.
For MSI Claw A8, there have been strangely little or no other configurations with less RAM than the 24 GB marketed (depending on the specifications of its website), which should specify “ up to 24 GB ”, but it is next to the point.
In the end, on the basis of these landmarks, the higher configuration of Lenovo Legion Go 2 (with 32 GB of RAM) should surpass the CLAW A8 MSI, which will be limited to a maximum of 24 GB of RAM. We will have to see the pocket computers and their 24 GB configurations will take place, and if the Lenovo laptop always presents itself as the winner, it could simply be due to better cooling.
Analysis: None of this will only have availability and prices are a problem …
To watch
After seeing the performance benchmarks of the CLAW A8 MSI and personally used its similar counterpart, the MSI Claw 8 AI +, I have already radiated a purchase of the two pocket computers. Although the performance jumped from Ryzen Z1 Extreme of AMD, it is not enough to justify such an expense, but it is slightly different with the Lenovo Legion Go 2.
If the Lenovo Legion Go 2 does not come with an unreasonable price more than $ 1,000, I could see that it is a great success given all the advantages. It has an 8.8 -inch OLED screen powered by the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, and if it was not already clear, the OLED screen is what gives it an additional advantage.
However, I fear that potential buyers will be rejected by prices – or worse, a lack of availability. Even if I had decided that I wanted to buy an MSI Claw 8 AI +, the action would disappear even before I could make a decision.
Fortunately, this gradually changes with better availability at Currys in the United Kingdom, but I could easily see the same original misfortunes with the Claw A8 and the Lenovo Legion Go 2 when it is finally put up for sale.
Taiwan prices are certainly one of the availability problems, because this is where Lenovo and MSI manufacture these pocket computers. Let’s just hope it will not become uncontrollable …
